Virginia Language Services
There are a lot of translation agencies out there and choosing between them can be a challenge, to say the least. How do you choose one, then? It's not as hard as you might think. Before you hire a translation agency, ask the following questions: Will they return your documents in a file format you can actually use? Do they stand by the estimate they gave you before you decided to hire them? Will there be surprises once the invoice for your translation arrives? How accessible are they? Do they answer your questions clearly and explain the issues you raise? There are obviously more, but you get the point. You want to hire the best service you can find and be sure of it before you spend your money.
At Virginia Language Services, we don't play games with our clients. Some other translation services will charge you based on their estimate of how much a given language shrinks or expands in translation. The fact is that there is no authoritative chart that tells us whether this happens or by how much. It is a guess on their part! Other translation agencies will tack on additional charges like "typesetting" if they discover at project's end that they didn't charge you enough for your document. The fact is that most documents don't require typesetting beyond the capabilities of most modern word processors. They are overcharging you and they know it. We don't play these games. The price we quote you before you sign on the dotted line for your translation is the price we will invoice you for unless you change the text, of course. Also, with the exception of Oriental languages, which are almost always more expensive, we charge the same amount for every language. Why should French cost more to translate than Spanish? It doesn't. Don't pay more. Come to Virginia Language Services for realistic pricing on your translation.
We can return your documents in almost any word processing format you need, the most common being Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. We can also translate your website into any of the languages we offer. Once your web site is translated, you have several delivery options. (1) We can email the translated pages in text (*.txt) format and your webmaster can cut and paste into your web pages. (2) We can generate the html files and upload them to your website for an additional charge or (3) We can ship the translated pages to you on DVD. Don't have a website? We can help you find the most cost effective web hosting options.
Almost as important as the price for your translation is accessibility. Will you actually get a human being on the phone when you have questions or concerns about your project. We are accessible 24/7 via email at info@virginialanguagesvcs.com, by phone at 804-525-4452 during business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time) or at 804-714-4342 up to midnight Eastern time.
As you can see, no one else is as responsive, available, flexible or accessible. Choose the right translation agency the first time. Come to Virginia Language Services!
